it was a warm day and trains are stuffy (i thought that was just something people said until i actually rode on a full train for an hour), and raveonettes is christmas or super hot summer music for me
especially: the beat dies
jeff buckley- sketches for my sweetheart the drunk
jeff buckley is one of those people who you need the volume up for most of the time but then sometimes he starts yelling. so most times i listen to him on speakers that aren't right next to my ears.
especially: yard of blonde girls
josh ritter- golden age of radio
i don't always listen to golden age of radio, but when i do, i listen to me and jiggs first. and replay it a few times.
radiohead- ok computer
we were getting off the train to hike through a little village and i felt like i needed a little edge. i turned off the music very early into the hike, don't worry. i did my nature-appreciating.
especially: a sweet little bullet from a pretty blue gun
phosphorescent- to willie
fun fact: the first time i heard a phosphorescent song it was on skins, that british teen drama. it's kind of unfortunate that that show took up some much of my time BUT i did get to hear phosphorescent. this is an album of willie nelson songs and it rules.
especially: can i sleep in your arms
isaac joel- back to bassics
a nice album from isaac karns (pomegranates), good for a quiet hour or a not-falling-asleep hour.
the best of buddy holly for the drive to the dayton airport
maybe not the best choice if plane crashes made me nervous but they don't
especially: raining in my heart (but come on, it's buddy holly, they're all great)
middle brother- middle brother
fought the urge to sing along in the gate
especially: million dollar bill (for being sad) and me me me (for tapping your feet to)
the magnetic fields- 69 love songs
best thing the magnetic fields ever put out, in my opinion
and i'm pretty sure i'm right
especially: i think i need a new heart
david gray- a century ends
thanks mom and dad and polly for playing this cd a lot around the house
especially: lead me upstairs
divine fits- a thing called divine fits
i'll pretty much listen to anything britt daniels makes, and it's hard to not hear spoon when you hear his voice, but it's a real nice 1st album. good for dancing if you're into that kind of thing
especially: shivers (the boys next door/rowland s. howard cover)
